Gardasil-9 is a vaccine against the 9 most common types of human papillomavirus (HPV) that cause cervix cancer, vaginal, vulvar, penile, anal, and mouth & throat cancers. HPV is transmitted through sexual contact and Gardasil is one of the only vaccines around that actually prevents cancer!
In Ontario, Gardasil-9 is given to middle school aged children, when it is most effective. Still, anyone under age 46 years can be vaccinated against HPV for cancer prevention! Ask your doctor about a prescription if you are not vaccinated against HPV.
